— Callistemon viminalis ‘LJ23’ Green John™ PPAF —
Callistemon Green John is an improved seedling selection of C. ‘Little John’; this dwarf bottlebrush shrub has roughly the same size and habit of ‘Little John’ yet is proving to be more vigorous–easier to produce and more resilient in the landscape–plus it has emerald green foliage as opposed to the gray-green or blue-green foliage of ‘Little John’. Simply put: Green John is like a tougher, easier to grow Little John with green leaves. Additionally, Green John (like our other improved ‘Little John’ selection called Better John) is proving to maintain a dense foliage canopy after many years in the landscape as opposed to ‘Little John’ which tends to get a little leggy or “woody”. New growth is a light green, in contrast to the older dark green mature foliage. Breeder: Todd Layt, Ozbreed Pty. Ltd. Part of our Tuffy Plant Collection™.
